Ancient Egypt
About 10,000 years ago, the ice age ended. The climate was warming and food sources were becoming more abundant. Hunter-gatherers found that they could now stay in the same place for long periods of time and overtime, the sedentary lifestyle of the Neolithic revolution. Based around water sources, where food and resources were plentiful, Ancient Civilisations began to develop, such as the Indus River Valley, Mesopotamia and the one I will be discussing, Ancient Egypt.
First founded on the River Nile, one ruler united Ancient Egypt in roughly 3000 B.C to 3500 B.C. Through its vast technological development, the Nile and well-structured social organisation; it became one of the most successful and advanced empires of all times. Throughout its reign, it went through numerous different rulers and ages, and it lasted for almost thirty centuries. During the empire, the Ancient Egyptians developed many different objects and ideas, but in particular, I will look at their writing and their social organisation. By the time the Ancient Egyptian Empire finally collapsed to the Romans in 30 B.C., they had changed the world forever, and moulded life into what we know today.
